Distance Learning (NQF5) – Self Study within 12 months, study material and assignments provided via email. A POE is required for a competency certificate.

All courses are offered in English only, students MUST be able to read, write and understand English.

If I want to open a business in Pest Control, which course must I start with?

We recommend that you start with the Basic Course in Pest Control which is our Structural Health & Nuisance.

What documentation do I need to submit for registration?

A completed registration form and a copy of your Identity Document from your country, if no ID is received a certificate will not be issued.

Can I pay the registration fee after the course?

The course fees are required in advance to secure your seat.

Does PCITA offer Payment Terms?

We do offer payment terms, once full payment is received, we will contact you to inform you of course availability and place you accordingly.

Which Platforms does PCITA offer training on?

In Class, MS Teams, E-Learning and Distance Learning.

Which regions are courses offered in?

Is PCITA Accredited?

PCITA offers Unit standard based Skills Courses, registered with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
PCITA is accredited with AgriSeta as an Education and Training Provider, Code: AGRI/cprov/0192/08.

Why do I need to be formally trained to be a Pest Control Operator?

According to Department of Agriculture (DARRLD) Act 36 of 1947 the requirement for a
general PCO is:
A certificate in general pest control (Structural Health & Nuisance), 6-month practical
training under a qualified pest controller to sign you off.

How do I go about obtaining a pest control license from the Department of Agriculture?

You are required to complete a 6-month practical training course under a qualified pest controller to sign you off, thereafter you can apply for your Plicense.

What level of education is required to train with PCITA?

NQF2: You must be able to read and write in English.
NQF5: Grade 12 / Matric is required
